INGOLSTADT 2002

It was a pleasure to judge the Afghan specialty in Ingolstadt and enjoy the german atmosphere concerning this fascinating breed.

As I already explained my opinion in the critiques of every single dog, I just will tell some few words to all those I thought that, after my opinion, was particullary “special”...

In puppy-class males, even its poor experience in shows, I liked ULLAH-KHAN OF WAMERU, an atractive pup, with a lot of class and excellent hindquarters. I also must say thanks for all the kindly care that Ina and Peter Schiller had with me along the whole week end.

I also liked WIND AGAINST SCENT OF FAME, in the Youth Class, a dog who surely will have a lot of succes in the near future, because he has that “qualité” that all winning afghan hound needs.

Than, In Open Class Males I got two outstanding dogs, a pleasure for the eye, believe me. RISA CHAN’S YERONIMO is a dog almost square, atractive and “macho” with absolut Champion quality. Perhaps he was not in his best moment of coat, but I really loved him.

Behind him (the fight in this class was only between those two outstanding dogs) I placed GENGALA JUSTIFICATION, superatractive and all him with and impresive preparation. He has, as “Yeronimo”,  real  Champion Cathegory, though I can think he is slightly long in body and it makes optically his legs a little short, and I prefer the afghans, particullary the males, shorter than longer...

The working class was nice, the two Champions was placed first and second, as I could remark after the show, but perhaps I would have liked him slightly more masculine.

In the Champion Class Males, another two Super-dogs: BOXADAN GRANDPA’S LIVES FOREVER, just amazing: atractive, masculine, with a lot of class and elegance at the same time, in spite of his fantastic substance, just the expresion I love to watch in an afghan, splendid condition and typical wide afghan gait.

In the second place, another excellent dog, glamorous and “macho”, ALICE COOPER GANDAMAK, a male that can win everywhere because has a lot of quality. Here he just had the bad luck to compite against “Grandpa’”, but it doesn’t affect his first class category. A real pleasure to watch him too.

In bitches, my two favourites was the winning in Open Class, TELLS JUSTINE CASE, the most faboulous lateral gait of the “matinée”. If you dream an afghan hound “flying”, then think of “Justine” and you would have it much more clear...

And the, in working class, GOLEA’S JEZEBEL-GO, a super atractive bitch, femenine, typey and glamorouse, no doubt the best bitch of the show, a real pleasure for my eyes and my heart. A real star. So star, that perhaps her proud and happy owner would try to improve her handling, I tell this with all my admiration and sympathy, of course.

In the end, BOXADAN GRANDPA’S LIVES FOREVER was the winner, superb, oriental, fantastic and flyer, starring a really excellent group of leaders.

Thank you very much for everybody. It was a honour to judge your dogs and, last but not least, a real pleasure from beginning to end of my breed judgements.

Yours friendly
